Steps for Making This Easy Broccoli Casserole Recipe

When you’re ready to start cooking, set your oven to 350 degrees for preheating.

While your oven warms up to the right temperature, chop your broccoli into bite-sized pieces.

Once you have fresh broccoli florets cut and ready, add them to a medium-sized pot or use your steamer basket on the stove, cooking for about five minutes until the broccoli is fork-tender.

When the broccoli is ready, pull it off the heat and drain it well. You’ll then grab a large bowl and add the broccoli, cream of chicken soup, mayonnaise, eggs, butter, onion, and salt and pepper, mixing well to combine.

After you’ve combined everything, add ¾ cup of the shredded cheese and mix it up. Your oven should be ready now, so get your 9×13 baking dish ready by coating it with cooking spray. Pour in your mixed ingredients, then top it off with the rest of the cheese and crushed Ritz buttery crackers for that crunchy topping.

Bake this for 40 minutes or until the cheese is melty and the top is golden brown.

  • This dish is best when you serve it warm.
  • Also, if you don’t have any fresh broccoli, you can use frozen broccoli.
  • You can always use cream of mushroom soup if that’s the only can of condensed soup you have on hand.
  • Top it with bread crumbs or French-fried onions instead of buttery Ritz crackers. There are many ways to get that signature crunchy topping.
  • If you’d prefer this to be a complete meal, turn it into a broccoli rice casserole by adding white rice, brown rice, or even long-grain rice.

Store any leftovers in an airtight container or cover with plastic wrap and keep them refrigerated.
